Aluminum Alloy 1100
Commercially Pure Aluminum
A commercially pure alloy at minimum 99.0% aluminum, 1100 forms and welds easily and holds up across a wide range of general purpose work: heat exchanger fins, tape and foil stock, reflectors, nameplates, and sheet metal fabrication. Electrical conductivity runs about 53% of copper.
We stock 1100 in foil, coil, and sheet and convert it in house, slit to width and cut to length. Where strength matters more than formability, 1145 and 1235 substitute well. Call us and we’ll tell you which one fits.

Specifications
| Principal Design Features | 99.0% min pure aluminum with excellent ability to be formed and worked. |
| Applications | Tapes, fin stock, heat exchanger fins, tags and name plates, commercial filters, decorative applications, giftware, reflectors, and sheet metal work. |
| Other Physical Properties | Electrical conductivity is 53% of copper. |
| ASTM Standards | B209 |
| QQA Standards | 1876 |
| Aging | Will not age, but can oxidize in an extremely damp environment and/or under extreme hot or cold temperatures. |
| Annealing | May be necessary after cold working. Heated to 650°F and then air cooled. |
| Cold Working | Excellent for cold working due to good malleability in the annealed temper. Easily bent, drawn, or spun. |
| Forging / Hot Working | Hot working can be conducted when needed. The alloy can be hot forged. |
| Forming / Welding | Forming hot or cold is readily accomplished. In the annealed condition it can be cold worked extensively without an intermediate anneal. Easily welded by all conventional methods. |
| Hardening | Hardens during cold working only. |
| Heat Treatment | Does not respond to heat treatment other than to anneal into a soft (O temper) material. |
